China Beijing International Accupunture Training Center
CHINA BEIJING INTERNATIONAL
ACUPUNCTURE TRAINING CENTER
China Beijing International Acupuncture
Training Center was founded in 1975 at the Acupuncture Institute of China
Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since its foundation, the training
center has successfully accomplished the special task of "improving the
teaching method of acupuncture and moxibustion and providing more opportunities
for foreign students" entrusted to it by the WHO Collaborating Center for
Traditional Medicine. It has trained over 3,000 doctors from over 99 countries
and regions of the world. Meanwhile, some specialists have been sent to
more than ten countries, such as United States, Great Britain, Japan, Holland,
etc., to carry out acupuncture and moxibustion training and medical treatment.
In 1982 the training center was acknowledged as The International Acupuncture
and Moxibustion Research and Training Center by the UNDP (United Nations
Development Program). The textboook "Chinese Acupuncture" has been adopted
as the "must read" to examine acupuncturist by countries like the United
States, etc.
China Beijing International Acupuncture
Training Center works out well-arranged teaching programs, provides the
long term courses and the short term courses, and makes a good combination
of theory teaching with clinical practice. Besides this, the Center focuses
its attention on popularizing acupuncture and moxibustion and improving
the acupuncture and moxibustion techniques as well. At present, there are
12 full-time teachers and 30 invited part-time professors, most of whom
are famous masters and professors of acupuncture. Apart from the teachers,
there are 22 translators who are responsible for the translation in English,
Japanese, French, German, Korean, Spanish, etc.
The centre aims to spread the Chinese
acupuncture and moxibustion all over the world and to make a contribution
to the medical health and preservation of all mankind.

Medical Publishing House, has been
adopted as the textbook for the introductory course. Participants in the
three month course will be able to acquire a general understanding of the
basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (T. C. M.) and a preliminary
mastery of the fundamentals of acupuncture and moxibustion in relation to
basic techniques of manipulation and locations of about 120 commonly used
points, as well as the treating methods of about 25 common diseases by applying
the differentiation of symptom-complexes according to the theory of meridians
and collaterals.
II- "Chinese Acupuncture", compiled
and published in 1987 by the People's Medical Publishing House, is used
as the textbook for the advanced course. Participants will learn tongue
observation and pulse palpation of the four diagnostic methods, differentiation
of symptom-complexes according to the theory of Zang-fu organs, needling
techniques, application of specific points and the treatment of common diseases.
Participants will be able to acquire a thorough understanding of the basic
theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a systematic knowledge about the
theory of meridians and collaterals and a mastery of the locations, indications
and needling of about 250 points.
Consequently, they will be able
to treat about 40 common diseases and some difficult diseases by determining
the treatment according to differentiation of symptom-complexes, and by
